THE PROBLEM 85% of Canadians do not get the recommended 25 minutes a day of exercise. A sedentary lifestyle leads to chronic disease. But exercising, and staying motivated, is hard. THE SOLUTION Exercise needs to be simple, fun and interesting. PupCoach is a mobile app that pairs with a smartwatch, starring an interactive virtual dog, who must be walked every day to stay out of trouble and be happy. If you want to play with him, or hear his stories, you have to walk. There are other fitness apps, but none that deliver an emotional connection like this, designed to grow stronger over time.

Looking for a developer familiar with any of the following: - Swift, Objective-C, SDK for iOS 8.0+ - SDK for Watch OS 2.0+, WatchKit, iOS Simulator, HealthKit We need your help with planning and building an MVP app prototype for iPhone, and ideally Apple Watch too. We need hands-on production plus advice on what is technically feasible, especially during the ideation phase. We can provide UX / UI assets including mockups. We plan to test LoFi mockups with Users prior to the Build phase.
Have you worked with patients who are at risk for chronic disease (obesity, diabetes, heart disease, stroke)? We need advisor(s) for our fitness app for patients who are very reluctant exercisers or Absolute Beginners with fitness. If you understand the psychological blocks and needs of these kinds of patients, please join us as we embark on the challenge of motivating them to move, and to build new habits, one step at a time.
